Jared Leto Leads TRON: Ares in Disney’s Latest Sci-Fi Epic

Disney has released a new trailer for TRON: Ares, a new film in the long-running sci-fi franchise. The film’s official trailer was released on the same day before San Diego Comic-Con kicks off in two days.

Directed by Joachim Rønning, the film is a new entry in the TRON franchise that shifts the focus of the series to the real world.

Kevin Bridges reprises his role as the iconic digital hero Kevin Flynn, and industrial rock band Nine Inch Nails is scoring the film.

The man demonstrates his point by pushing Ares over before saying, “I will simply make you another.” It looks like the man will serve as the main antagonist in the movie, but the audience is given a glimpse of something different.

Ares makes his way through the real world and is left in an unknown place that he has no business being in. He gets up to a standing position, and Ares begins to run. The digital character has no idea where he is going, but that seems to be a good thing.

The new artificial intelligence, which is unlike any of his previous creations, embarks on a journey to find whatever it is that he is looking for. As he runs, Ares passes a reflection in the window, and it shows that he is human. Kevin Flynn, who is in the digital world, also appears in the trailer.

Flynn is in the world and is left with a question when he says, “A malfunctioning program who wants to live, why is that?” Kevin Flynn asking these questions seems like a very good indication that we will be treated to a lot of existential dread. Ares seems to be very dangerous and ready to take on whatever the world throws at him.

It looks like the fight between Ares and the forces of “evil” is about to get underway. The new trailer is a lot more interesting than the first one. Ares looks great, and the color palette of the film is as bold as ever. It is a real shame that the film was delayed for so long. It is hard to imagine that the same problems are still haunting the film, but that may be the case.
