Annual Hay Day Event Returns to Manistee National
On October 24, Manistee National Golf and Resort celebrated its annual Hay Day event, welcoming families and community members for a day filled with autumn-inspired fun and activities. The event, held at the resort, has become a beloved tradition for the community.
Family Activities and Entertainment for All Ages
The community event offered a variety of entertainment options and family activities. Children and adults enjoyed horse-drawn wagon rides, a hay slide, and a bounce house, providing plenty of excitement and laughter. There was also a dedicated photo spot where families could capture memories from the day.
Pumpkin Activities Add to the Fall Festival Spirit
In celebration of the autumn season, pumpkin activities took center stage. Each child attending the event received a complimentary pumpkin to take home. Carnival-type games such as ring toss, pumpkin putt-putt, and bobbing for apples were available, further enhancing the fall festival atmosphere. Traditional fall treats like cider and doughnuts were also provided for guests to enjoy.
Holiday Crafts for Children
The event featured dedicated spaces for holiday crafts, allowing children to express their creativity. Craft stations gave young attendees a chance to make and take home special keepsakes, contributing to the children entertainment available throughout Hay Day.
Pet Adoption Drive Hosted by Homeward Bound Animal Shelter
A special highlight of the day was the pet adoption drive organized by representatives from the Homeward Bound Animal Shelter. According to a news release, many donations were collected during the event, and one kitten found a new home. The presence of the animal shelter emphasized the event’s community-focused mission and support for local causes.
Manistee National's Tradition of Community Events
Manistee National Golf and Resort continues its tradition of hosting inclusive and family-friendly gatherings. As seen in this year’s Hay Day event, activities such as carnival games, horse drawn rides, and craft-making help foster community spirit and create lasting memories for families in the region.
